Delicate threads of silk, the ones you only notice when the light catches them at just the right moment, are known as gossamer. It is a word that holds both beauty and fragility in equal measure, and it suited this work from the moment it arrived.

This piece emerged from an evening of play in the studio, where there was no plan. A beautiful soft shade of whisper green became the starting point, with white emerging in loose, feathery gestures, like two dandelions twisting and turning as the breeze takes them on their way. The faintest whisper of blush sits beneath, and there is a freedom in how it all sits on the canvas.

Gossamer is beauty without being burdened, is feminine, soft and contented, bringing that same energy into any space it inhabits.
